All Our Children Meow and Woof

I created this blog to sort through my emotions as Finnegan, a great Irish Wolfhound, fought bone cancer for nearly 26 months. Fortunately, his battle subsided for many months and during the course of the 26 months, I shared stories about his feline siblings. On August 8, 2008, Finny passed on in my husband's and my arms. He fought the good fight and he will always have a special place in my heart. *If you have a question, please write me at finnegandog at gmail dot com.*

And Then There Were Three...

It was a year ago today that I had my surgery. If you look closely at the left leg in the photo, you can see the nasty nasty bone tumor.

Don't worry Finn, you are just as drop dead gorgeous with three legs as with four.

Finn my pal - how ya doing? That bone tumor looks painful. I'm glad you got rid of that nasty thing and that you are a-okay now.

Celebrate your anniversary with a Guinness! Okay, maybe Happy Tail Ale for you, a Guinness for your mom!

Finny,

So glad the nasty nasty tumor is vamoos and you are here as a tripod! If you never told me, I would never have even noticed you only had 3. (Are you an Agatha Christie fan, by chance? Your title was a little suggestive of that).

Goob love to ya, man!

Hey Finn,

Look on the bright side... You know you were worried about when your mamma got out the nail clippers ?

At least there's 5 less for her to do! Have you EXPLAINED about bribery, and cheese slices while undergoing a pawdicure ?

The AlphaB delights in getting ALL of mine.

As for the fireworks - a little Brandy works a treat (for the mamma ;-) )

Finney you are such a brave, handsome and fine boy with a mom who loves you. I am so glad you are still here with us to share your goodness. You stay well! I insist! Don't make me come over there and bite my foot!

Aw Finny. That tumor looks awful. But I'm with Sophie--you're better on three legs than most of us are on four! Go Finny!
